On January 13, 2021, the government re-declared a state of emergency based on the Law Concerning Special Measures against Influenza Pandemic, etc., for seven prefectures including Kyoto Prefecture, in addition to one metropolitan prefecture and three prefectures in the Tokyo metropolitan area.In response to this announcement, The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics, Kyoto Computer Gakuin, and Kyoto Computer Gakuin Automobile School will take more thorough measures to prevent students and faculty members from becoming infected with the virus, which have been in place for some time. The KCG Group established a new coronavirus task force as of January 31, 2020, and is working to prevent infection.
As an emergency measure against the new coronavirus infection, we have moved our classes and other school operations to cyberspace since March 2020.For the spring semester of the 2020 academic year, Kyoto Institute of Information Science and Technology and Kyoto Computer Gakuin will offer classes in e-learning format (a system that allows students to take classes from home via the Internet) from the start of classes in April, and after June 16 (Tuesday), face-to-face classes will be offered for some courses after sufficient preparation. In the fall semester of FY2020, we will continue to offer classes in an e-learning format, as well as gradually introducing hybrid courses that can be taken both in person and online, in order to meet the needs of students who prefer to take classes in person. For assignment work, etc., we ensure that students have opportunities to study by allowing them to use practical equipment on a reservation system and by lending them equipment and other resources. In addition, we have a system in place to respond to individual questions and interviews "online" or "in person upon request" in order to resolve any concerns you may have about your studies. The above measures are implemented by limiting the number of visitors to the school buildings and the number of students in classrooms, ensuring that students are a sufficient distance from each other, thoroughly disinfecting the building, installing partitions in some lounges, installing thermal cameras at the entrance to the school buildings, wearing masks, and thoroughly disinfecting hands when entering the building, etc.Kyoto College of Automotive Technology has been conducting classes using e-learning until the end of May, but since many of the classes involve practical training, face-to-face classes have been held since early June after taking sufficient measures to prevent infection so as not to impede the students' progress in acquiring skills.
All students are urged to avoid situations where the "three densities"-close, dense, and close-combine.In particular, we remind people to refrain from dining in large groups.Information on infection prevention and consultation services in case of illness are disseminated, and if students have any concerns, they are encouraged to consult with the office of each school by e-mail or other means. We will also maintain our services to students with regard to various student guidance and events, such as job placement guidance, and will use both online and face-to-face services while utilizing cyberspace.Telework by faculty and staff continues to the extent possible, and efforts are being made to thoroughly prevent infections.
The duration of this measure will be determined by monitoring the infection situation and government announcements and other trends. The measures taken may be subject to change depending on the situation.
We ask that visitors from outside the school be discouraged as much as possible, and even if a meeting is necessary, it will be handled online as a rule.If you plan to visit the school, please contact us in advance by e-mail or other means. Please note that some telephone and window services will be suspended and the response time will be shortened.
National efforts continue to be made to prevent infection. We, the KCG Group, will continue to make utmost efforts to prevent infection.
