Yuya Yamanaka, who was selected as the Grand Prize winner of the 2017 Spring Semester Degree Conferral Ceremony (held on September 15) at The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), was a working student who studied at the Systems Department of Banshu Shinkin Bank (head office in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture) as part of a long-term corporate training program. He worked hard in his studies to "live up to the expectations of the company" and earned 77 credits with excellent grades, far more than the 44 credits required for completion of the program. In addition to winning the Best Project Award for his project on "Topic Analysis of Voice Input Chat and Research on Business Support Service," he also presented this project at the Information Processing Society of Japan Kansai Branch's annual conference in September and passed the HTML5 certification exam (Level 1), an advanced IT qualification.

Selected by Banshu Shinkin Bank's policy to train future professionals in the IT field, Yamanaka enrolled at KCGI in October 2015.This was the first case of long-term corporate training for Banshu Shinkin Bank, and I felt a great sense of responsibility, so I am relieved to have successfully completed the program. Before entering KCGI, I was mainly engaged in system operation and management, but in the future I would like to utilize the knowledge, skills, and experience I gained at KCGI to develop systems that will lead to better service to our customers," he said.
