The Board of Directors and General Assembly of the Kyoto Information Industry Association (KIIA), an incorporated association approved by the Kyoto Prefectural Government, recently held a meeting and reappointed Wataru Hasegawa, Director General of KCGI/Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), as its chairman.President Hasegawa is serving his third two-year term, which ends March 31, 2012.
The association is composed of companies related to the information industry in the prefecture, and currently has about 70 members.The office is located in KCG Kyoto Ekimae School.The purpose of this organization is to contribute to the improvement of the lives of the citizens of Kyoto Prefecture by promoting the informatization of the local community through the development of various projects related to the dissemination and utilization of information-related technologies.The specific activities are based on the IT know-how and human resources possessed by the members.
Promote informatization projects that take advantage of the characteristics of the Kyoto region by building industry-academia-government networks.
▪ Open seminars and workshops on today's topics, including information and communication technology
Promote IT revitalization projects in the Kyoto area through collaboration with local information-related organizations nationwide
The main focus is on such things as
Chairman Hasegawa took office in March 2006.We focused on expanding the association and promoting its projects.Since October 2006, I have also served as a board member of the National Association of Local Information Industry Associations (ANIA), a national organization of information-related associations consisting of similar associations authorized by each prefecture.
