Instructional Design in the E-Learning Business."
~Learn about the latest educational methods and e-learning course production in the U.S.

The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) has held seminars to support high schools and university teachers.

In commemoration of the 5th anniversary of KCGI, Dr. Maya Benz, Associate Professor of KCGI (former Coordinator of the Distance Education International Project at Columbia University Graduate School of Education and Blackboard Consultant) will give a lecture as an "open seminar" to the general public this year.This is an excellent opportunity to learn the latest educational methods and e-learning course production in the U.S. in Japan. Teachers from high schools and universities, as well as those in charge of education in companies, are cordially invited to attend.

*Intensive lecture (face-to-face class) period: August 18 (Mon.) - 21 (Thu.), 17:30 - 20:40
Thereafter, students attend classes via e-learning about once a week, and correct and explain assignments, etc.

Students will learn the theory and practice of instructional design and create e-learning courses for a virtual company.Learn how to use various web and multimedia production tools for production.We will also compare and study various e-learning case studies, various e-learning platforms, and learn tips for success.

teaching method
Face to face classes:.
The use of the tools and exercises will be explained, along with explanations of various case studies and how the theory should be applied to the situation and environment.

E-learning classes:.
It consists of 15 learning modules.Each module includes PowerPoint files, case studies, assignments, self-assessment tasks, and a question-and-answer e-mail service.

Upon completion of this course, students will be familiar with the latest educational methods using ICT in the United States.Understand the theory behind the design of eLearning courses.Know how to use and apply various course management systems, authoring tools, etc.At the end of the course, students create and complete an actual e-learning course.
