The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) and Accenture Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo), a comprehensive consulting company that provides services and solutions in a wide range of fields, opened the Kansai office last year. "Industry-Academia Collaboration Course" was completed on July 31, 2019, with the participants presenting their final results and completing all five courses. The course was designed to help alleviate the shortage of "DX (Digital Transformation)" personnel, who can flexibly respond to changes in customers and markets while quickly adopting digital technology to provide products and services as the digital environment continues to evolve day by day.

In this course, which began on May 29, Accenture employees served as lecturers, and each group had a series of discussions on the issue of "what kind of customer experience can be created" in the context of various changes in the environment surrounding the restaurant industry, assuming that it is a major family restaurant. In the group work, working people and students worked together to come up with ideas, and since many international students also participated, the work had a rich international flavor. On the final day, each group presented their final results, including ideas for an app that automatically calculates calories and nutritional content, an app that presents the best menu to meet individual needs, and an app that allows single people to enjoy eating out without feeling lonely. After the course, a reception was held, where participants reflected on the learning process so far, praised each other's efforts, and pledged to make use of the results and experiences learned in the course in the real world.
