The Future Environment Lab exhibited for the first time at the Chushin Business Fair held on October 17 and 18, 2018.

The Future Environment Lab, established by Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) and Kyoto College of Informatics (KCGI) in collaboration with the General Technology Research Institute of Nihon Unisys, a major IT service provider, exhibited for the first time at the Chushin Business Fair held on October 17 and 18, 2018.The fair attracted a great deal of interest in the latest IT technologies, and many visitors stopped by the Future Environment Lab corner and asked questions of the staff.

The fair is organized by Kyoto Chuo Shinkin Bank and supported by the Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, Kyoto Prefecture and Kyoto City.The Future Environment Lab booth was set up in a corner of the Nihon Unisys booth in the main exhibition hall of the Kyoto Prefectural Trade Fair Hall (Kyoto Pulse Plaza in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City).The catchphrase of the project is "An industry-academia collaborative project to 'prototype the future' by imagining the future and using current technology.

In the "Future Environment Lab" corner, slides and movies are shown to introduce the daily activities of the lab.Nihon Unisys researchers and KCG faculty members were on hand to explain the program to visitors.In addition to videos introducing the lab's activities such as hackathons and technology exchange meetings, and its R&D activities such as a DIY automatic driving kit based on object recognition technology, equipment in use in the lab such as mini-drones and electronic construction kits were also exhibited.A mini-drone demonstration flight was also held, attracting the interest of many visitors.

In February 2017, the KCG Group opened the "Future Environment Lab," a creative project jointly with the Integrated Technology Research Institute of Nihon Unisys, on campus in an effort to foster the next generation of IT professionals through collaboration between industry and academia.Students who will be active in the IT industry in the future use their flexible ideas and creativity in a variety of research and academic collaborations with researchers from IT companies.
