<This presentation will introduce a case study of the application of operations research (OR) to business improvement at Nanzan University.At Nanzan University, faculty members specializing in OR and statistics and administrative staff are implementing a business improvement project called "Project N" (N stands for "Nanzan").The project has significantly streamlined several operations of the university.In carrying out the project, the front-line administrative staff, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates worked together to solve problems, and the results were recognized throughout the university, including by the university's executive board.In this presentation, examples of projects will be presented, including the process of implementation and specific results.
<After working as an assistant at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Tokyo, he became a lecturer at the Faculty of Business Administration, Nanzan University in 1986, a professor in 1998, a professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Nanzan University in 2000, and a professor at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology in April 2009.He specializes in operations research.In 2005, he joined Project N.He has been in charge of the project since 2007.
