The Scientific Research Fund-based Research Project Team, led by Professor of The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), etc., conducts international research on e-Learning and MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses), which are expected to become increasingly popular worldwide. In order to promote this, the Korea-Jeju National University e-learning Support Center and the “Smart Greed and Clean Energy Fusion Industrial Human Resource Development Corporation” (Korea) and the “Japan-Korea e-learning, MOOC Content Joint Research Agreement” Was exchanged on May 17th.
This research is supported by the research project "Development of Social Networking-Oriented Next-Generation e-Learning Infrastructure Considering Internationalization" (Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B) 16H03087), which was initiated in FY2016 by Professor Toshio Okamoto of KCGI and funded by the Japan Science Foundation, and involves Professor Noboru Takahiro, Professor Kazushi Sakka and Associate Professor Keiji Emi from KCGI, as well as faculty from Shinshu University, Shizuoka Sangyo University and Osaka Gakuin University.
The KCGI-centered research project team will continue to work with Korean universities and business organizations to promote research on e-learning and MOOC content based on the premise of internationalization by developing and operating a tripartite exchange program, building a "real-time video system" to facilitate remote collaboration, holding joint workshops once a year, and exchanging e-learning and MOOC content.
In response to the recent trend of popularization and internationalization of online education, KCGI established a new Media Collaboration Course in April 2017, and has put in place a Communication Systems Program and an Educational Media Program. In this course, students can learn from KCGI faculty members who are active on the front lines of the field in practical ways about diversified media and expression technologies, optimal videoconferencing system design, construction of e-learning environments, and development of educational content.
