Become a member of the KCG family and help "Revive Japan" - 2011 Entrance Ceremony

The 2011 entrance ceremony of The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) and Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) was held at the The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics Kyoto Station Satellite on April 9 (Saturday), and many highly motivated students joined.Although some new students were unable to attend due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, the representative of the new students said, "Many people are working hard in the affected areas.I would like to acquire skills and knowledge and make efforts to contribute to society for the revival of Japan," said one of the participants.We will hold another entrance ceremony for new students from the affected areas.

The main hall where the entrance ceremony was held was filled with new students, parents, and other concerned parties.At the beginning of the ceremony, Wataru Hasegawa, KCGI and KCG General Director, gave a speech.After expressing condolences to the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake, he emphasized that the new students have become a part of the "KCG family" from this day forward.KCG, which has the longest history in Japan, has a large network of alumni (graduates).I hope that you will take the opportunity of entering KCG to cherish these vertical connections and expand your horizontal connections while making many good friends, and that you will shed your old self and be reborn in a new and bigger way.I hope you will think about your future, work hard at your computer studies, and carve out your own path," he said.

KCGI President Toshihide Ibaraki then urged the students to "seek your goals as students and work hard to achieve them," before pointing out that "the recent earthquake exposed that the communication network is still fragile.KCGI, KCG is a place for professional development.I hope that the students will contribute to Japan's recovery as professionals with the knowledge and skills they have acquired here," he said in his ceremonial address.

In response, the freshman representative, Yuma Yoshimoto (Department of Computer Science and Engineering), expressed his determination to make efforts for the reconstruction of Japan and contribution to society, and pledged, "I will continue my persistent efforts to become an information engineer who supports society, working hand in hand with my fellow students.

This was followed by an orientation and parent-teacher conference, where the students took their first steps as members of the KCG family.
