On September 25, 2008, Kyoto Institute of Information Science and Technology and Jeju National University in Korea signed an agreement on the establishment of a "Japan-Korea Cyber Campus," which will allow students from both universities to attend lectures via the Internet.
The signing ceremony was held at Jeju National University and was attended by President Chung-Suck Ko of Jeju National University, Josai President Wataru Hasegawa of Josai University, and other officials from both universities.In addition, a working-level memorandum of understanding on communication experiments using the distance learning system was also signed, and both universities will discuss checking communication quality and creating a framework for exchanging lectures toward the establishment of a cyber campus.The first lecture is scheduled to be held within this fiscal year, and the realization of the Japan-Korea Cyber Campus is expected to further promote exchanges between the education and research departments of the two universities.

Jeju National University signed an agreement with The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics in Japan on April 25 to establish a Japan-Korea cyber campus in order to secure educational competitiveness through mutual cooperation in image lectures using e-learning infrastructure and sharing of related technologies.
This has enabled the two universities to establish a real-time remote video lecture system that can be used for exchanges in the fields of education and research, and has made it possible for current students to obtain multiple degrees (Dual Degree) through the establishment of a cyber campus.
In the second semester of 2008, Professor Gyung Leen Park of the School of Natural Sciences will give an image lecture to students of the Kyoto University of Information Science and Technology as a first attempt to demonstrate and operate the lecture process.
The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics opened in April 2004 as the first and only IT professional graduate school in Japan. IT like CIO (Chief Information Officer), which is difficult to train at a graduate school with a focus on academic research. It aims to develop highly specialized professionals in the field.
