Lecture Contents

(1) "An Attempt to Promote English Learning by Combining ALC NetAcademy1 and WebCT.
Lecturer: Maria Macaventa Ikeda, Kyoto Computer Institute, Kyoto Institute of Information Science
In teaching science and engineering students who do not specialize in English, we will present how we combined the course management support system WebCT, NetAcademy standard courses, and other Web resources to create classes, how faculty members were involved in the system to maintain student motivation, and how we evaluated and awarded credits.
(2) "An Attempt to Promote English Learning by Combining ALC NetAcademy2 and Moodle.
Lecturer: Dr. Haruo Nishinou, Center for Language and Culture Education and Research, Doshisha University
The role of ALC NetAcademy 2 and Moodle, a Learning Management System (LMS), in common education will be examined in terms of the learners' learning time and growth in English proficiency.He will present how the two systems were introduced, the specifics of the attempts to promote learning, and the creation of a mechanism to combine the systems, including the results of an on-campus survey.
(3) "Stress-Free Supplemental Training: Using Mobile Academy for Different Purposes"
Lecturer: Dr. Akinobu Ando, Faculty of Education, Miyagi University of Education
The approach to English language learning in schools has also developed in recent years in line with the evolution of information technology, with computer-based learning and mobile phone-based learning.In this presentation, we will discuss the effectiveness of cell phone learning, which is the most familiar and utilized communication tool for many students, and the results of its use in actual educational settings through examples of information education.
