Professor Toshio Okamoto of The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) recently received the National Commendation for Invention and Innovation (sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan Patent Office, Nippon Keidanren, The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Japan Patent Attorneys Association, and The Asahi Shimbun).Congratulations, Dr. Okamoto!
This award was established by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII) to encourage and foster inventions and to contribute to the improvement of science and technology and the promotion of industry in Japan by honoring those who have completed outstanding inventions and those who have contributed to the guidance, encouragement, and development of inventions.Professor Okamoto attended the award ceremony held recently at the Hotel Okura Tokyo (Minato-ku, Tokyo) to receive the award.
Professor Okamoto has served as a member of the judging committee for the All Japan Children's Invention Exhibition sponsored by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation, and is a professor emeritus at the University of Electro-Communications.
