The Kyoto International Manga/Anime Fair (KYOMAF) 2019, the largest Manga/Anime convention in Western Japan, was held on September 21 (Sat.) and 22 (Sun.) at the Kyoto Municipal Industrial Promotion Hall (Miyako Messe), jointly organized by the KCG Group (Kyoto Computer Gakuin, Kyoto Institute of Information Science, and Kyoto College of Automotive Technology).The KCG Group booth hosted an event using pen tabs, which attracted many visitors.Also exciting was the announcement of the final and judging results of the "Seiyu-tama in Kyomafu 2019 - Seiyu-tama Kinki Competition" (in cooperation with KCG Group), which featured guest voice actors.
At the opening ceremony held at the Rome Theatre Kyoto on March 21, KCG Group President Wataru Hasegawa joined Kyoto City Vice Mayor Norikazu Okada, Executive Committee Chairman Takayuki Matsutani (President of Tezuka Productions), and voice actor Hiro Shimono on stage to announce the opening of the festival as the organizers.At the beginning of the ceremony, a moment of silence was offered for the victims of the Kyoto Animation Fire.
At the KCG booth, many people participated in the "Liquid Tablet Workshop," where they could use an LCD pen tablet to color the KCG mascot character "Kyokotan" and turn it into an Uchiwa fan or a postcard.The staff at the KCG booth gave detailed explanations to beginners.The "Kyokotan" clear file that was given to those who registered on KCG's LINE@ was also well received.
Seiyu-tama in KYOMAFU 2019 - Seiyu-tama Kinki Competition" aims to qualify for the International Seiyu Contest, a voice festival where junior high and high school students who aspire to become voice actors gather.There were more than 120 applicants, and 6 people who passed the screening held at Kyoto Computer Gakuin Kyoto Station Front Recording Studio and The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics Kyoto Main Campus attended this day.Inviting voice actor Yoshinoh Aoyama as a guest judge, together with the event's organizing committee chairman Akiyoshi Watanabe, professor at Kyoto University of Information Science and Technology, and Hideo Momota, director of the International Association for the Development of Seiyu (Voice Actors), one grand prize winner will be selected to participate in the final round of the 8th International Seiyu Contest "Seiyu Spirit" to be held in Tokyo on November 17, and four winners of the Kyoto City Transportation Bureau's "I'll ride the subway" character voice actor audition held simultaneously will also be selected.After the event, there was a talk by Mr. Aoyama, which was very exciting.Two students from the IT Voice Actor Course of the Information Processing Department of Kyoto Computer Gakuin served as emcees for the event.For results and more information, please visit the "Soul of a Voice Actor" page.
