Patent
- U.S. Patent 5,584,036 Title: Process management apparatus and method for a prepress process storing progress status data segmented into job units and process steps of job progress
- Progress status data from each of Apparatus is read by the communication apparatus 48, and provided to the reading and registration apparatus for progress information 52. In the reading and registration apparatus for progress information 52, the progress status data is segmented into for each pages, and stored in independent memory area in the progress management master file on the disk 53. In the similar banner, the progress status data is segmented for each process steps and stored in the independent memory area in the progress management master file. Therefore, it is not necessary to seek both for each page and for each process steps when management is carried out by displaying the progress status, so that prompt processing can be realized. Although connecting many of the apparatuses when grasp of progress status, speed of processing does not decrease.
- U.S. Patent Number: 5,724,491 Title: Command sheet for prepress, and device and method for preparing hereof
- A prepress command sheet capable of prepress efficiently without errors. Magnetic disk 54 are stored electronic data for corresponding image components, corresponding text components, and corresponding linework components. The Disk 54 are also stored electronic data for layout papers for the prepress command sheets. A CPU 42 rays out the corresponding image components, corresponding text components, and corresponding linework components on the layout paper accessing to instruction by an operator. CPU 42 reads identifiers for the responsive image components and long them out in the Vicinity of associated corresponding image components. Printer 47 records the corresponding image components, corresponding text components, corresponding linework components, and identifiers associated with responsive image components on the layout paper, and outputs the prepress command sheet.
- U.S. Patent Number: 6,111,655 Name: Method and system for managing component data of the design process and prepress process of a printing operation
- Method and system for managing component data for design and prepress process using component layout information corresponding to a viability of component areas lid out on a base sheet, each component area corresponding to either an image component, text component or linework component. The size of the base sheet and component area of each component to be raid out on the base sheet is determined and recorded in a memory means storing file name data of each component to be raid out in each of the component areas in a tree structure. Data for command sheet for each component is generated and recorded for each component with a file name attached. Each command sheet is generated using the tree structure of file name data of each component recorded in the memory and the original of component data in the tree structure of file name data of components recorded in the memory means is inserted.
- U.S. Patent Number: 6,571,147 Title: System for and method of managing jobs
- An input agent system and a viability of job-handling agent systems are connected using a network. One external adapter is connected to each of the job-handling agent systems. Pieces of job information indicating of the processing contents of the external adapters are inputted to the input agent system, and each of the job-handling agent systems captures and evaluates a piece of job information from the input agent system, and then registers the piece of job information if the piece of job information is judged as being suitable for an associated external adapters. This eliminates the need for the input agent system to judge which external apparatus is to process the inputted pieces of job information, reducing the burdens on the input agent system. Consequentially, pieces of job information may be effectively handled in the plurality of external equivalents connected to the plurality of job-handling agent systems.
