Voice of an existing student

Why KCGI?

While studying abroad in Canada during my university years, I experienced firsthand the popularity of Japanese manga and anime overseas, and my desire to work in a job that actively promotes such content grew. After graduating from university, I worked at a major electronics retail store, selling PCs and other products, but I realized that what I really wanted to do was to use my knowledge of economics to promote manga and anime to the world.I thought, "I can still start over and get a new job." As my thoughts were growing, I found out about KCGI, where I could learn about management and contents business with a focus on IT.

Learning with KCGI

KCGI is an international environment with many international students, and I was shocked to learn that there are people who have different views on copyright from those in Japan, which deepened my interest in content management. In the "Content Promotion Strategy" class, we actually developed and implemented PR for an international manga and anime event, and learned the importance and tips of social network analysis.By being actively involved in the preparations for the KCGI-sponsored show "MUΣA," I am able to express my opinions and take action without fear, and by acquiring image and video editing skills, I am able to think from the perspective of a creator.

Vision after completion

KCGI is a place where anyone with an interest can learn and develop from scratch.I am surprised that I am now able to actively discuss and consult with teachers in a way that I could not have imagined in the past.I would like to deepen my knowledge of content management and promote Japan's excellent content to the world through events.

Why KCGI?

In addition to my knowledge as a game planner at Kyoto Computer College (KCG), I learned programming and design, and was able to create games when I graduated. At the same time, I became interested in animation, and when I attended a KCGI lecture by Professor Yasuhiro Takeda, the founder of GAINAX, I had an opportunity to learn how difficult it is to produce animation as a business. Ahead of graduating from KCG, I wanted to broaden and deepen my skills, so I decided to study mainly IT manga and anime through KCGI.

Learning with KCGI

In addition to IT Manga and Anime related courses such as "Digital Animation Production" and "Animation Drawing Basics", I have also taken courses on image processing such as "Visual Processing" and "Object-Oriented Programming", which were unknown to me, and I feel that my knowledge is expanding. In the "Leadership Theory" class, we worked as a group on the project "Making a video to support international students". We interviewed international students about the problems they face in living in Japan and the apps they use on a daily basis.

Vision after completion

As part of my job-hunting activities, I participated in a forum recommended by my professor, and I strongly felt that logistics plays an important role in people's daily lives. After completing the forum, I decided to set my goal to become a logistics system engineer. In the future, I would like to spend more time studying ERP in addition to anime to pursue my own potential and find my way.

Why KCGI?

After working as an executive at a company, I decided to start something new after I retired, something I had never done before. When it comes to IT in Japanese companies, there is often a two-tiered divide between managers who "think they know" the general theory of IT and engineers who "only understand the technology" but work hands-on in the field. I came to the KCG Group, which had been famous since I was a student.

Learning with KCGI

When I first entered the school, I had no knowledge of IT, so I was worried about what subjects I should take. However, now that I think about it, since each student has different goals and IT qualifications that he or she wants to obtain, I think the KCGI system makes sense as it allows students to choose various combinations. In addition to the basic concepts of IT, I was able to read cutting-edge papers such as the proof of "quantum transcendence" if I had the desire to do so, and thanks to the professors' thorough teaching methods, including video lectures that were convenient for reviewing, I was able to see my position in the global IT trend.

Vision after completion

What is lacking in the top management of traditional Japanese companies is the courage to admit that they understand what they don't understand and leave it to others, and the best example of this is IT.It is up to the person who enrolls in KCGI to determine what he or she wants and needs to learn here.I believe that Japan would change if only young and mid-career people from Japanese companies who are aware of such issues would come to KCGI once or twice a week, and I would like to be an evangelist to share my experiences at KCGI with young people.

Why KCGI?

After entering Kyoto Computer Gakuin, I studied all kinds of genres such as mobile apps, web, and programming in order to find out what field I was suited for.I was planning to get a job after graduation, but I was wondering if I could really go to the company I wanted to go to with my current abilities... When I learned about the KCGI Special Scholarship Program, I decided to take a chance and go on to higher education. After completing the program, students can earn a master's degree. That's another attraction.Recently, in other countries, you are not considered an expert unless you have a master's degree.

Learning with KCGI

When I told my teacher that I was only thinking of a career as an engineer in the future, he advised me to focus on studying technology.I am not very good at management, which is a core area of study at KCGI along with IT, but this is a great opportunity for me to learn more about this field, so I am actively taking related lectures. The timetable is filled to the almost fullest in order to learn as many different fields as possible. That is why KCGI has so many attractive lectures.

Vision after completion

I am planning to work for a web-related company in Kyoto City, where I participated in an internship as a graduate student, after completing my studies.I want to study hard at KCGI until I enter the workforce so that I will not have any regrets, and continue to improve my skills after I enter the workforce. My goal is to become an engineer, even in a small community, so that people will say, " In this field, you are the right person to ask questions".It would be great to become a tech lead with added management skills.

Why KCGI?

When I was a university student in China, I had the opportunity to study at a Japanese language school in Tokyo for six months, and I got the impression that the environment for studying in Japan was very good. Not only did I receive good guidance in the environment with rich nature, but the Japanese people around me also warmly welcomed me. After graduating from the university, I strongly wanted to study in Japan, and I felt that KCGI, which was affiliated with my university, would allow me to further expand on what I had learned so far.KCGI is Japan's first graduate school for IT professionals and I am confident that it will help me grow.

Learning with KCGI

At KCGI, I am studying to be an ERP consultant, and I feel very fortunate to be able to study in a cutting-edge environment in Japan.During the summer vacation, I took advantage of my specialty to do a two-week internship at one of Japan's leading sake manufacturers, where I was able to experience the unique business methods of Japan, which are completely different from those in China.Sake is also very popular in Shanghai, where I am from.As a result of my fulfilling study abroad experience at KCGI, I was selected as an honorary friendship ambassador of Kyoto Prefecture in June 2019, and I am living a fulfilling life promoting my favorite city, Kyoto, to the world, which is rich in nature and is a comfortable place to live where history and cutting-edge technology are combined.

Vision after completion

The two years of study abroad are short, so I try to be proactive and experience a variety of things in the spirit of "Seeing is believing."For me, sake is not just alcohol, but Japanese culture itself.I would like to use the knowledge of ERP that I learned at KCGI to work in the trading field at a historical sake manufacturer.

Why KCGI?

I had worked on a project to create a website for a geography conference at a university in the capital city of Sri Lanka, and I was looking for a place to pursue a master's degree in order to further my specialization after completing my ICT degree.Three of my friends from my alma mater had already studied at KCGI, and they told me that the facilities and environment were excellent.

Learning with KCGI

I love Japan because it is a beautiful country and everyone is kind. Now, I don't go back to my home country much, and I am devoting myself to my studies in the best environment at KCGI.I took the course in English mode, but thanks to the guidance of enthusiastic professors, I was able to master programming languages such as Java, SQL, PHP, and JavaScript while advancing my Japanese studies, including passing the JLPT exam.In the international environment of KCGI, I am able to interact with not only Japanese students but also students from other countries such as China and Nepal.

Vision after completion

My dream is to use the skills and knowledge I have acquired at KCGI to find a job in Japan and become an advanced web developer, so I am preparing for interview for a job hunting under the advice of the Career Center, which provides friendly counseling. At KCGI, we offer a wide range of classes on both theoretical and practical aspects of IT, which is perfect for polishing skills that will be useful after you find a job.I would also like to say to my juniors, "Study hard!"
