What kind of graduate school is the Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics?
The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics is a professional graduate school approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.Opened in April 2004 as Japan's first IT professional graduate school.Those who complete the course will be awarded a “Master of Information Technology (Professional)” degree.“Professional graduate school” is a new system that was started by the revised School Education Law that came into effect in 2003. They are graduate schools which aim to foster high-level, professional human resources.

There are many people who are studying and working at the same time in our school . Some people take a leave of absence from school due to their workload.The leave period is semi-annual and up to 2 years in total.

Are undergraduate graduates whose background unrelated to IT eligible for the exam?
Our school accepts students from a wide range of fields, both humanities and sciences.Many people with liberal arts backgrounds are also in school.As an admission policy, our university accepts talented students from various backgrounds like professional schools in USA.
I graduated from an IT school in March this year.Am I eligible to apply?
As a general rule, those who have graduated from a 4-year university or graduated from a 4-year department at a vocational school approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology are eligible to apply.Other applicants will be eligible to apply if they are recognized by the University's screening process as having scholastic ability equivalent to or higher than that of university graduates and if they are 22 years old as of April 1 of the year of admission.
After graduating from a three-year vocational school, I have been engaged in IT-related work for three years.Can I apply?
If you pass the entrance examination, you can apply.In addition, if you have more than 2 years of work experience, you can take the examination using a special selection system for working adults.
Can international students apply?
You can apply if you meet the eligibility requirements.For international students, the documents to be submitted are different, so please obtain the international student recruitment guidelines and submit the required documents.
Is there an age limit (upper limit)?
As a general rule, if you are over 22 years of age, there is no age limit.Some people have enrolled after retirement.

What is the entrance examination like?
Interviews and oral examinations will be conducted based on the submitted application documents (school transcripts, self-introduction / motivation, essay, etc.).The oral examination will be conducted in accordance with areas of common knowledge and the subject area of the candidate.

What is the content of entrance examination?
The entrance qualification review examines if the applicant possesses the academic ability equivalent to or better than those who graduated from university.Please submit the necessary documents for admission screening to the University Admission Center at least 2 weeks before the entrance examination.There are two types of entrance examinations: English essay, and oral examination.

What is the course registration system?
The course registration system is a system that allows you to select only the courses that are necessary for you from among the courses offered.Students can take a completion test for each course and earn designated credits by passing the test.In addition, a degree can be obtained if the total number of credits acquired reaches the number required to complete a major.Per-credit students can register for courses per semester (half a year), and are also allowed to extend enrollment period by meeting the procedure requirements.
What is the difference between course students and auditors?
Participants can earn credits, but auditors can only attend lectures, but not earn credits.

I am busy and can only go to school two days a week.Can I still complete my studies?
For adult students, we have established a “long-term student system” that allows students to extend their study period and enroll in a planned manner by applying in advance.If the application is approved, you can complete the course with the tuition for two years regardless of the duration of the course.
Is it possible to complete on weekday nights or only on Saturdays and Sundays?
It is not possible to complete only on weekday nights and on Saturdays and Sundays. It is possible to complete with some additional e-learning (e.g. in evenings).
About contents of class
If I can't speak English, can I still keep up with the classes?
Our school has a large number of teachers with foreign nationalities, and some of the classes are conducted in English. The aim is to develop the ability to read and write using electronic dictionaries, placing more emphasis on reading comprehension and composition than English conversation.English classes will be offered with a Japanese interpreter.
Is it possible to select multiple career enhancement courses?
No, it is not possible.You must select one of them.

SAP ERP can be accessed from home, so you can study on Saturdays and Sundays.
What are the classes for SAP consultant certification?
Lectures and practical training will be conducted with very similar contents with the Academy course provided by SAP.We offer three certification preparatory courses for business process integration, financial accounting (FI), and sales logistics (SD).
