Summary
There are attempts to improve the safety of navigation and realize efficient and sustainable fishery with ICT for the further development of marine and fishery industry, which includes the introduction of a data collection system for marine resources and environment with traceability function using artificial satellites. In addition, there is an urgent need for ICT applications for ships for energy conservation, safe operation, reduction of greenhouse gases, prevention of marine pollution, and utilization of marine natural energy. We will develop human resources who can lead these marine ICT.
