Tokyo Alumni Reception Held on November 20

On the evening of November 20, 2011, the Tokyo Alumni Reception was held in Akihabara, Tokyo.Not only KCGI and KCG graduates but also current students participated and had a very meaningful time.I was very happy to hear that the graduates currently residing in Tokyo and Kanto are active in their respective fields.We lost track of time and reminisced.

Faculty members who attended the reception exhibited at the e-Learning Awards 2011 Forum on the following day, the 21st.

NAIS Special Lecture Series: A Close Look at the Frontiers of Research

On November 11th (Friday), NAIS Special Lecture and The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics Founding Lecture “Frontier of Research on Human Centric Computing” was held at Kyoto Information University University Kyoto University Hall.The audience nodded in agreement as the lecturer, Yoshinori Yanaginuma, Director of the Human Solutions Research Department, Human-Centric Computing Laboratory, Fujitsu Laboratories Limited, gave an interesting glimpse into the frontiers of human-centered computer research.

The 33rd convention of the All Nippon Information Industry Association (ANIA, Chairman: Masaki Nakamura) and the 10th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Kyoto Information Industry Association were held on November 10 at the Hotel Granvia Kyoto in Kyoto City, with KCG serving as host.Many participants from 47 prefectures in Japan and China gathered to study and interact with each other, and pledged to transmit information from Kyoto to the world and into the future while contributing to the economic development of Japan through the ICT (Information and Communication Technolo

Kyoto Prefecture's vocational training "Website Production Course" is now being offered at KCGI.

At the KCGI Kyoto Ekimae Satellite, Kyoto Prefecture has been offering the "Website Production Course," a job training course (core human resource development course) to support job seekers in finding new employment, since November 2, 2011.The schedule covers a total of 360 hours over a 90-day period ending March 29, 2012.

Enraptured by the clear sound of clarinet and piano - Concert at KCG

The KCG Group's autumn classical concert "An Afternoon of Clarinet and Piano" was held on Saturday, October 29 at the Kyoto Station Satellite Concert Hall of the Kyoto University of Information Science and Technology, featuring Emmanuelle Neveu, principal clarinetist of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and Akiko Sugitani, a leading pianist in Japan.

Obituary: Dr. Toshio Ueno

Dr. Sueo Ueno, an astrophysicist and former director of the KCG Research Institute for Information Science and Technology and a world authority on radiation transport theory, passed away on October 19.It was 100 years old.In addition to his significant contributions to the scientific demonstration of global environmental issues, he has made a significant contribution to the development of education at the University.We extend our deepest condolences.

The wake and funeral service will be held only with the family members.

Exhibited at e-Learning Awards 2011 Forum

The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) and Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) will participate in “e-Learning Awards 2011 Forum”, the only comprehensive forum in Japan that introduces, presents, and discusses “current and future surrounding e-Learning” along with abundant examples.
